This results in significant savings in resources and energy, by avoiding the manufacture of new packaging and end-of-life management (recycling, incineration, landfill). Packaging that can be reused in an optimized system therefore has less impact on the environment than single-use packaging.

Then there's the economic benefit! Once the reuse system has been optimized and investments made, reuse enables food industry players to make savings, which can be passed on to product prices.
